Transponders

This has led a number of locksmiths in the auto industry to improve their skills by learning to read and write the newer types of chips.
Immobilisers
The Renaults are very complex in the way they operate when it comes to keys and immobilisers. There are two systems in use that effect the way that a replacement key is programmed to the car. The older system utilizes the "kill switch" that connects to one of the crucial car's components to enable it to disable it in the event that the right key is not present.
